Peachtree’s inventory section  remains to be one of its strongest points. The user can also search on inventory data in sales or purchase descriptions.

The time billing features of Peachtree also offers a lot of flexibility. In this section, a user can create expense tickets, daily and weekly time tickets, and sales invoices which are all printable.

The New Features

In the software’s latest release, Peachtree offers “expanded capabilities around customization, access and control.” Some of the new features include a new transaction history and dashboard that lets you see everything related about a customer or vendor and key informations like invoices, quotes and receipts.

A user can now also store an unlimited number of contacts per company and within the company. This feature lets you add notes to store specific and unique information regarding each contact.

The 2010 release also features a better security feature which includes automatic password expiration and lockout of users who enter multiple incorrect password. The backup feature is also more convenient now that a user can create scheduled and automatic backup data.

The Negatives

Although, Peachtree boasts simplicity and features like no other, for some users, it is really not as ready to use out of the box. Peachtree assumes that users have basic accounting experience, hence it will be harder for the smaller businesses that are just starting out and does not employ an accounting practitioner.

Peachtree comes with a 30-day free trial. After the trial period, it can be acquired from as low as $99.99 to as much as $4,450 depending on your needs. The most suggested of the Peachtree product line is the Peachtree Complete Accounting, which retails for about $299.99.
